Woodwinds Concentration

Woodwinds Faculty

San Jose State University's School of Music and Dance offers many ways for woodwind instrumentalists to be involved in music. Degress include the Bachelor of Music with instrumental, vocal, or composition; the Bachelor of Music in Music Education; the Bachelor of Music in Music Education; and the Master of Arts in Music with specializations in the appropriate area.

The curriculum in all concentrations offers a balanced program that includes private instruction with active professionals: music theory/musicianship; music history; solo, chamber, and large ensemble performance; and jazz. Many performance opportunities are available for students including the University Wind Ensemble, the Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Orchestra, miscellaneous chamber ensembles plus saxophone ensemble, flute choir, and clarinet choir.
