Concert Choir
A large auditioned choir comprised of music majors as well as talented minors and other students. This is one of the School's major ensembles and meets the requirement for those majoring in voice, keyboards, and non-orchestral instruments.


Choral Conducting
San Jose State University offers conductors on all levels the opportunity to refine their skills through individual study, classroom conducting, and hands-on experience with collegiate choral ensembles.


Women's Choir
An auditioned ensemble of highly gifted music majors and non-majors. This group performs reqularly on campus.


Masters Degree Program
San Jose State University is one of the few California schools which offers a Master of Arts degree with an emphasis on Choral Conducting. Students interested in pursuing this degree should contact Professor Yu, in the Choral Activities office at (408) 924-4333 to request a Handbook.


Studio Instruction
Voice instruction is offered by a professional performing faculty at no extra cost for all voice majors. Auditions to become to become a voice major are held the first day of each new semester.


Music Minor
Singers pursuing a music minor may participate in any of the School's Choirs, subject to audition.
