Student Performance and Choreography

Student Choreographer

The program provides many opportunities for performance and choreography. Students in levels I, II, and III of Choreography present two showings of selected classroom studies each semester and students in level II present a concert of group works at the of Spring semester.

Each year, those who have completed two semesters of composition class are eligible to participate in a fully produced concert of students choreographed works at the end of the fall semester. Two student works are selected for performance the American College Dance Festival annually. These works are frequently included in the touring repertory of University Dance Theatre, the student contemporary dance company which performs extensively. Graduating seniors present a Portfolio Concert during their final Spring semester where each performs and presents a choreographic work.

In addition to University Dance Theatre and Company One, our students frequently perform with Opera San Jose and Bay Area dance companies, as well.
